Course Description

A survey of Western and non-Western world cultures using anthropological and historical perspectives. Special emphasis on sample groups in Africa, India, and Asia. Cross listed with HI204.

Course Objectives

This class has four objectives:

  1. Familiarize the student with the geography of selected world cultures.
  2. Introduce the student to a wide range of cultural practices.
  3. Chronicle the major events in the development of each culture.
  4. Learn and identify cultural traits specific to certain areas of the world.
