NBCOT Practice Exams

This course requires the completion of two NBCOT practice exams. Students must submit payment for exams to the Health Professions administrative assistant in the Thogmorton building. Email your professor or the administrative assistant if you have questions. Payment should be received by week two of the course, an assignment is associated with the task. NOTE: Students you must create a MyNBCOT account with the CMU OTA program selected to be registered for study materials and practice exams.

Course Description

Students will demonstrate understanding of the requirements for licensure, certification, and registration within state laws. They will also demonstrate understanding of the AOTA Code of Ethics and Ethics Standards as well as the Standards of Practice. These are to be used as a guide in ethical decision making regarding client intervention, interactions amongst professionals, and within the employment setting. 0-1 credit hours. (Online/Self/Study)

Course Objectives

Students will review the OTA licensure application process for the state in which they wish to practice and submit documents to the state where they wish to practice. 

  1. The student will demonstrate knowledge for licensure, certification, or registration consistent with federal and state laws.
  2. Students will review the NBCOT certification application process and submit application process for the OTA NBCOT certification process.
  3. The student will demonstrate knowledge for licensure, certification, or registration consistent with federal and state laws.

Students will demonstrate competency through application of programmatic content to practice exams and quizzes.

  1. Students will demonstrate application of knowledge through completion of two NBCOT practice exams.
  2. Students will demonstrate NBCOT competency by scoring  >75%.
  3. Student will demonstrate application of knowledge through completion of three practice domain quizzes.
  4. Students will synthesize concepts related to the course through completion of weekly reports, discussion, and self-reflection.

Students will evaluate sources and create a personalized strategy for success.  

  1. Students will compare and contrast study materials.
  2. Students will identify areas of for improvement and create an individualized study plan for the NBCOT certification exam.
  3. Students will apply elements into an action plan.
  4. Students will evaluate state and national resources dictating licensure and certification compliance.

Students will demonstrate understanding of state and national regulations governing licensure and certification by creating a comprehensive resource.
