Course Description

MA521 Introduction to Real Analysis. 3 hours. Students will study the real number system, limits, sequences, series, and convergence; completeness; limits and continuity; and selected topics from differentiation and integration theory. Prerequisites: MA522; or equivalents.

Course Objectives

Completion of this course will provide the student with a better understanding of the real number system and real valued functions.

For a given set of information, the student should be able to read, interpret, and apply the information to the properly chosen set of theorems, formulas and procedures to reach a reasonable solution.

Additionally, the student will be able to communicate all aspects of the process verbally, or in written form.
