This course has an assignment that is due by 11:55 pm Central Standard Time on Wednesday night of the first week of class.  Failure to complete this assignment will result in your removal from the course for non-participation. 

Textbooks

No textbook is required. All materials are posted on the class website.

Course Special Requirements

Students must have a fundamental knowledge of Microsoft office and the use of a PC computer.  Students need internet access and a PC computer with Microsoft Word.

A Mac computer is not sufficient and is not supported in the class materials.

Course Description

Computers are a valuable tool for teaching mathematics. The topics of this course include, but are not limited to, writing publishable quality papers, using current mathematical software, and creating clear, concise mathematical instruction by applying current technological resources.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant should be able to:

  • Use the Equation Editor in Microsoft Word to create publishable quality materials.
  • Use GeoGebra to illustrate fundamental and intermediate concepts in mathematics.
  • Create graphs to illustrate mathematical concepts using the Desmos Mathematical software.
