A study of the history of mathematics. Prerequisite: MA112 or MA118 or instructor's permission. 3 credit hours.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant should be able to:

• Identify the contributions to mathematics by a specific culture.
• Relate the development of a mathematical subject to contributing mathematicians.
• Associate the various subjects in mathematics with the mathematicians responsible for the development of those subjects.
