Course Description

EN410: Senior Thesis

Students will complete a semester long capstone experience that includes a portfolio and project that are the culmination of student work and experience in the major.  Students that are majoring in English Secondary Education may NOT take this course while doing student teaching.

Throughout the course we will focus on the writing process: idea generation, drafting, and the re-visioning process.

Course Required Textbook and Readings

TBD by the necessities of a student capstone project and under the advisement of the thesis advisor.

Course Objectives

The objectives for EN410: Senior Thesis and the English major as a whole are as follows:

  • Students will recognize and participate in discourses within the field of English.
  • Students will draw on periods, movements, and genres in order to create new knowledge.
  • Students will analyze and evaluate language.
  • Students will compose texts effectively in multiple modalities.
