Course Description

This course focuses on the legally mandated process involved in Special Education assessment, diagnosis, placement, and intervention.  An analysis of federal, state, and local requirements is included.  Emphasis is placed on the development of Individualized Education Program (IEP) with information provided on the development of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP) and Individualized Transition Plans (ITP).

Purpose and background of No Child Left Behind Act of 2001

Overview of Special Education Caselaw U.S. Supreme Court Cases

Discussion of monumental U.S. Supreme Court Cases
