Course Description

This course is designed to assist the students in recognizing personal instructional strategies and selecting strategies appropriate to the student population. Various instructional strategies are explored.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, each student will be able to:

  • create learning experiences that are for a particular discipline and that are meaningful to students.
  • create learning opportunities that support intellectual, social, and personal development for students.
  • develop strategies to address the needs of diverse learners.
  • identify, create, and plan instructional strategies to support student development in critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills.
  • create and plan a learning environment that fosters positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
  • create strategies that utilize technology.
  • analyze the effects of his or her teaching and actions on students and others and identify professional development opportunities to further develop and enhance his or her teaching and actions.
  • identify relationships with students, other faculty, school, parents, community, and outside agencies to enhance and support student learning and the learning environment.
