Course Description

This course is designed to provide students with information concerning issues and trends in curriculum. Topics will include the history and evolution of curriculum use, curriculum development, connecting curriculum and assessments, practical use of curriculum, and how it fits into our current state and national achievement responsibilities.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, each student will be able to:

  • Articulate the history and many of the key figures in the history of curriculum.
  • Discuss current issues and strategies related to curriculum, its nuances and many of the advantages and disadvantages of current curriculum writing practices.
  • Create curriculum utilizing The Understanding by Design Framework.
