Course Description

This course is a study of principles and techniques used in coordinating work experiences for student learners. Included is a study of methods and materials, work site selection, placement, evaluation, and student follow-up. 

Course Objectives

Students should be able to:

  1. Describe the coordinator’s role in Cooperative Career Education Programs.
  2. Identify techniques used in developing a Cooperative Career Education Program for on-the-job training.
  3. Describe student and employer supervisory duties.
  4. Explain how you would utilize follow-up studies as part of a Cooperative Career Education program evaluation.
  5. Identify techniques used in the selection and placement of students in Cooperative Career Education Programs.
  6. Summarize the role of advisory committees in a Cooperative Career Education Program.
  7. Describe the methods and materials for providing effective related instructional units.
  8. Identify and distinguish among main components of an effective Cooperative Career Education Program.
  9. Identify the legal issues of student employment and placement.
  10. Prepare promotional or informational items for use in marketing Cooperative Career Education.
