The readings for this course are available under handouts on myCMU. Both readings are available free of charge, but you might consider whether you want to print them. They are quite lengthy.

Course Description

This course addresses information needed to plan, implement, and maintain Business Education programs.  3 hours.

Course Objectives

Students should be able to:
1. discuss history and components of business education programs.
2. describe the role of advisory committees.
3. explain the program evaluation process.
4. describe budget development and management of career ed funds.
5. define the importance of business, industry, and community agency partnerships.
6. develop short- and long-term curriculum planning for business education programs.
7. define adult learners and contrast teaching adults with teaching high school students.
8. describe a business/career ed instructional management system.
9. explain the role of public relations in business/career education.
10. explain philosophy and goals of career and technical student organizations.
11. understand the importance of a program of work for FBLA.
