This course has an assignment that is due by 11:55 pm Central Standard Time on Wednesday night of the first week of class. Failure to complete this assignment will result in your removal from the course for non-participation.

Special Requirements

Students must earn a 76% to “pass” this course. Although a student could earn a 76% without completing an assignment, ALL assignments must be submitted in order for a student to earn a passing grade.

To complete this course, you must also be registered with the Family Care Safety Registry. You may have registered previously for another course. Unless your name has changed, you will not need to register again. If your name has changed,you will need to update your name in the FCSR system. Failure to register by Wednesday of the first week of class could result in your removal from the course.

Course Description

ED105 Field Experience II. 0, 0.5, or 1 hour. Applied experiences (12 clock hours) working with students and observing teachers in a classroom setting. This course is pass/fail. Prerequisite: ED102 or transfer equivalent or permission of division chair.

Course Objectives

1) Review and reflect upon the MoSPE Standards.

2) Recognize the relationship of child/adolescent development and how home and society can place students at risk.

3) Be acquainted with, recognize, and draw conclusions about the behaviors of effective educators.

4) Be introduced to learning, motivational, behavioral, and management theories.

5) The student will participate in a practicum experience for 12 hours.
