This course provides an introduction to the biology, ecology, and identification of mammals of the world. Topics include mammalian characteristics, biology, ecology, evolution, behavior, diversity and conservation. In lab, students will learn to identify the mammals of Missouri using skulls, teeth, morphology, and study skins. Additionally, students will learn aspects of natural history (habitat, habits, food, shelter, reproduction) for each species. Field trips to capture, view and study local mammals will be included. Prerequisite: BI101.
