Textbooks

Wild, and Shaw. Fundamental Accounting Principles. 24th ed., United States:  McGraw-Hill Irwin, 2019. Packaged with Connect.

Connect is an online environment developed through the publisher with interactive exercises that correspond with the book. Access is required because homework is due through the Connect webpage.

There are two options available to purchase this textbook. Option 1 = Looseleaf Textbook and ebook and Connect Access; Option 2 = Ebook only through Connect Access  : 

Option 1) Loose leaf copy of the textbook, ebook and Connect access code ISBN 13: 9781260260724  (Recommended)

Option 2) 18 month access to eBook and Connect access code ISBN 13: 9781260158526 

      If you decide that you would like a physical copy of the textbook, you can purchase it later. Even though the physical copy is not required, it is STRONGLY recommended that the student buy or rent a copy. Once a student purchases an access code and registers for a course, they can purchase the loose-leaf from the Connect Course homepage. (Try ebay or amazon on Chegg as well)

The course Connect address will be available on the syllabus and in Resources and Materials when the course opens.

There is a two week free trial with Connect so you can do the course work on day one of the class. After the two week free trial, you are required to have purchased the Connect access.

Connect is an online product used in conjunction with the textbook. The homework assignments and exams will be taken on the Connect website.

Course Description

The continued study of business accounting systems with an emphasis on a) partnerships, b) corporations, c) financial statement analyses, and d) managerial accounting. Prerequisites: AC201 and BU225 or CS121 as prerequisite or co-requisite, or instructor's permission.

 

Course Objectives

In general, the objective of the course is to help students develop skills in solving problems through effective analysis of information and communicating this information in a business setting. Specifically, the course seeks to support the following accounting undergraduate student learning outcomes:

Outcome 1: Demonstrate the ability to develop, measure, and analyze financial & other information;

Outcome 2: Communicate financial and other information effectively while ensuring its integrity; and

Outcome 3: Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills in domestic and international settings.
