Course Description

A study of the application of quantitative analytic techniques to data in the Social Sciences.  

Course Objectives

  • Students will be familiar with the levels of empirical data in social science analysis.
  • Students will be able to calculate and employ a variety of measures of central tendency appropriate to data analysis in the social sciences.
  • Students will be able to calculate and employ a variety of measures of dispersion appropriate to empirical analysis in the social sciences.
  • Students will be able to calculate and employ a variety of measures of correlation to analyze relationships among a variety of levels of social science data.
  • Students will be able to calculate and employ a variety of measures of statistical significance appropriate to the analysis of correlational statistics in the social sciences.
