An introduction to the basic processes of conducting psychological research. Special attention will be focused on experimental methodology, the analysis and interpretation of data, and scientific report writing. A practical goal for the course is to provide students with the analytic and conceptual skills necessary to read and critically evaluate professional journal articles.

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant should be able to:

1. Be familiar with the basic processes involved in conducting psychological research.
2. Gain an understanding of the various research methods used within psychology.
3. Acquire ability to identify and evaluate basic components of a research journal article.
4. Develop skills needed to read and critically evaluate professional journal articles.
