Set-class melody:

Compose a theme based on the four-note set class of your choosing.  Use transpositions and inversions of the set.  Every fourth note should be the end of one statement and the beginning of another.  Type your melody in Sibelius or MuseScore.  Write (or type) the set class numbers above or below the notes.  Turn in a printed copy.

Write a coherent melody of four 4-bar phrases.  Follow some type of periodic design (you can choose the format - consult Theory I book for help).  Cadences don’t have to follow the traditional pattern, but there should have resting points.  Work on developing a nice shape and to the phrases with rhythmic choices that make sense.
