Students enrolled in the annual opera workshop are placed through audition and selection process and are cast in principal or secondary roles in scenes or assigned chorus. Students learn music assigned and learn the stylistic background of scenes and roles they prepare. Students begin stage movement, ensemble acting along while perfecting musical/vocal skills. Students are coached through musical study and interpretive discussion and analyze musical style and develop characterization. For ensembles: Students may repeat ensemble courses for credit. Content for each semester is different. Learning outcomes are the same, but students are able to develop greater depth of musical understanding and more proficient execution of technique
