Course Description

This is a graduate level course in linear and matrix algebra. The topics include, but are not limited to, systems of linear equations and their solutions, matrix representation of linear systems, matrix theory, and proofs.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant should be able to:

apply the appropriate methods to construct and solve a linear system of equations

interpret the solutions of a linear system of equations

create a matrix equation from a linear system of equations

apply appropriate matrix operations to construct and solve linear systems

communicate in written and oral form using the appropriate vocabulary and symbolic language of linear and matrix algebra

demonstrate the use and application of linear and matrix algebra techniques in mathematical modeling
