Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Use previous knowledge from prior coursework, experiences and scholarly research to:
  • design a research question,
  • design a research project to work toward answering the question,
  • conduct a research project,
  • record appropriate data and procedures in an organized fashion,
  • collect and analyze data obtained from research experiments,
  • draw appropriate conclusions from data collected,
  • report procedures, data, results, and conclusions in a final written and oral report.

• Constructively critique and discuss the work of others.
• Discuss and compare common career paths for mathematicians.
