Course Description

This course is designed to provide you with a better understanding of Hispanic culture.  There are many populations who live in the United States, but for purposes of this course, discussion will  primarily focus on persons from Central and South America.  There are cultural issues of family, religion, and respect to name a few that affect how Hispanics perceive health services. In addition, Hispanic populations are at risk for certain illness more so than non-Hispanics. This course will explore those in detail and for a final project students will develop a possible outreach or education program to address a health care need for Hispanics.
