Course Description

EN222 introduces students to the study of literature, developing essential skills in critical thinking, textual analysis, and composing in multiple modalities.  Through an investigation of literary genres and/or movements, student will also explore a variety of cultural and/or historical contexts, expanding students’ engagement with, understanding of, and respect for the diverse human experience.

Course Objectives

  1. Students will explore how literature reflects and/or critiques cultural values and historical contexts.
  2. Students will investigate literary genres and/or movements.
  3. Students will engage with, analyze, and interpret literature.
  4. Students will compose effective texts in multiple modalities.
