Students will participate in Big Blue Button online meeting sessions. In order to do this students should have access to a microphone or webcam.

This course explores students' writing in creative forms, including short fiction, drama, and verse. 3 hours. Prerequisite: EN120 or EN110/111

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant should be able to:

1. Utilize critical thinking/reading to effectively workshop, critique, and discuss readings for class and the work of peers.
2. Gain and utilize the correct vocabulary pertaining to creative writing, poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.
3. Clearly and creatively communicate thoughts and ideas through a variety of creative writing genres: poetry, creative nonfiction, short fiction and drama.
4. Improve writing by practicing the process—prewriting, drafting, and revision of sentences, paragraphs and complete essays, poems, stories, and a play.
5. Understand and demonstrate the process of revision and polishing of work and submitting work for publication.
