Course Description

This course is designed to familiarize the student with a variety of methodologies in educational research. Students will select an area of interest for secondary research. 3 hours.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant should be able to:

  1. Express a basic understanding of the APA writing process.
  2. Analyze content, original passages, articles, reports and other written documents related to an educational research topic.
  3. Craft a research question for a literature review based on the collection and evaluation of relevant research.
  4. Identify central arguments and key concepts in current educational research to reformulate in an original format by writing a precis.
  5. Write an annotated outline as a foundation component of a literature review.
