3hrs. (Capstone.) This is the capstone course for Communication majors. Open only to Juniors and Seniors majoring in Communication. This course is a Senior thesis seminar. Students must complete either (1) a directed research paper or (2) an approved project using audio, video, or a combination of both with a written research component and present it to the faculty of the Division of Social Sciences.

• Describe sources utilized for research and determine relevance to the paper or project.
• Evaluate research related to paper or project topic.
• Analyze one’s own level of self-awareness and understanding of communication related concepts and case studies, as well as knowledge gained through past coursework.
• Apply information obtained through conducting research to create a unique, meaningful and well-developed paper or project.
• Promote and present subject matter in a demonstrative, organized, structural, and ethical manner, utilizing support from sources obtained through extensive research and following the guidelines of the APA manual or MLA manual.
