CT345 (EX20) OA - Small-Group Communication

REVEL is a publisher created courseware site. The book is currently only sold through the REVEL platform. Your instructor will provide you a web address to register for your course on the REVEL platform on the day the course opens. The address will be available in Resources and Materials.

After you have the REVEL course address, you will register for the course and then pay with either an Access Code purchased from the bookstore, a credit card or a 14 free trial (must be purchased after 14 days).

 

Course Special Requirements

For some assignments in this course, students will be video-recording themselves and uploading the video files to YouTube. Students will need access to a video-recording camera and have an active YouTube account.

Course Description

CT345 Small-Group Communication. 3 hours. Students study the theories and processes of small-group communication. Topics include group development, problem-solving, and decision-making; leadership; listening; conflict resolution; and virtual groups. In-class discussion, group exercises, projects, and presentations help students improve their leadership, team-building, and presentation skills. Prerequisite: CT101.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant should be able to:

  • Be familiar with current theory and research in the area of small group communication.
  • Understand the components of small groups and the importance of small group communication skills in the workplace today.
  • Gain experiences in group problem solving and task group development.
