- Students will explore various theories of personality and counseling and the vocabulary each theory uses.
- Students will compare the criteria for the application of one counseling theory versus others.
- Students will be able to anticipate the consequences of using each counseling theory discussed in class.
- Students will derive treatment interventions consistent with the personality theory being used to conceptualize the counseling case.
- Students will characterize various counseling theories by their underlying concepts and assumptions.
- Students will be able to select an appropriate counseling approach to use with various treatment problems.
- Students will be able to generate a treatment plan for various treatment problems based upon theory based techniques.
