Syllabus addendum: To earn attendance credit, you must attend class in person unless you have been quarantined by CMU. If you are in quarantine you may attend on Zoom, but your camera must be on your face. As always, accommodations will be made for extenuating circumstances. Notify me as soon as possible is we need to work out an alternative plan.
Homework (due on date listed)
1/25 Read both articles on the Resources for Musicians page of the CMU Website. For each article, type 5 things you learned or think college students in the arts must remember AND 5 things you want to remember for your future career.
1/27 Read this article about awkward conversations. Pick one of the tips (or two, if you want) and write a paragraph sharing what you think about that paragraph (for example, you've tried it and it works, you've never thought of it and want to try it, you've tried it and it failed miserably, etc.)
2/1 Email Dr. Waggoner as soon as possible with ideas for more discussion about "awkward conversations" - if you don't contribute....there will be more role playing

2/3 Watch the two videos linked below. Type list of 5-10 leadership qualities you admire (these do not have to be related to the videos).
2/8 Download "schedule template" from Resources & Materials to Notability or Word. Write/Type in all classes, lessons, and rehearsals.
2/10 no new homework - meet for class at the Ashby-Hodge Gallery in Classic
2/15 Snow day!
2/17 Gallery reflection (Type 1-2 pages explaining what pieces you liked or disliked and why? Use the titles and artists' names in your discussion.) Bring schedule templates to class, no need to upload again.
2/22 Complete schedule template - must include eating times, homework times, practice times
2/24 Choose single greatest challenge for you regarding time management. Explain the issue and how you can effectively deal with it. (type and submit)
3/1 Two assignments:
- Grade Report HW in response to 5-week reports (if you didn't get a report, I already gave you the points!).
- Determine the major you want to pursue and download the correct degree plan from Resources and Materials. Save the file to Excel and OneDrive (or other cloud storage).
3/3 Fill in your degree plan with all dual credit, transfer credit, fall 2020, and spring 2021 classes. Upload the Excel file.
3/8 complete the Classes for Fall 2021 document with all your fall classes.
3/10 type a list of the 3-4 excuses you use most often for procrastinating and explain what you are going to do to move past those temptations.
3/15 no homework
