  CMU101 Freshman Survival Skills 1

A First-year orientation class designed to orient the student to university life and discuss adaptations and skills necessary for success at the university level.

COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 

Students who successfully complete CMU 101 will:  

  • Transition from HS to CMU   o Survive college physically   o Survive college emotionally   o Survive college academically   o Survive college socially   
  • Develop functional technology skills (check email, respond to email, send an attachment, save in OneDrive, find syllabi, forum posts in myCMU, upload assignments, take an online quiz, organize files, use planner)  
  • Begin career exploration by completing the Focus 2 and writing a reflection  
  • Recognize the mission, creed, and University Learning Principles (ULPs)
