Course Description

3 hours. This course is an in-depth study and practice in graphic design and how art and business are integrated.  Students will be expected to produce design solutions that reflect edited conceptual development, advanced strategic thinking and professional product appearance.  This course consolidates previous graphic design knowledge and skills.  Students will finalize their graphic design portfolios with a culminating project.  Prerequisite:  GD302.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant should be able to:

  • Use various tools in InDesign and Photoshop comfortably and effectively
  • Identify and define common terms used in graphic design
  • Create all necessary components of a successful brand, such as logos, business cards, promotional items, products etc.
  • Discuss how business and design combine to create brand identities
