This course will focus on the pivotal role of art in the expression of human consciousness and culture from the early Renaissance in the 14th and 15th centuries to the high Renaissance and Mannerism of the 16th century, the Baroque and Rococo of the 17th and 18th centuries, and on through the many styles of the modern world.
