Course Description:
Nursing Informatics is the "science and practice (that) integrates nursing, its information and knowledge, with management of information and communication technologies to promote the health of people, families, and communities worldwide." (IMIA Special Interest Group on Nursing Informatics 2009). Students will also learn skills and techniques to help them study and take exams.
In this course you will:
1. Recognize the ethical and legal responsibilities that are associated with informatics in the healthcare system, social media, and texting
2. Exhibit knowledge of the Assessment Technologies Institute® (ATI) system and understand how it aids in student success in the nursing program
3. Demonstrate improved test taking techniques
4. Obtain knowledge of the NCLEX test plan and recognize how this information applies in the classroom and clinical setting
