GRADING CRITERIA EXPECTATIONS

Chapter Questions & Terms Expectations

All questions and terms must be hand written and are due at the beginning of class on the day of the test.  Due to the speed at which this class progresses I highly recommend you read and answer the questions prior to attending class.  This will enable you to have a better grasp of the material, help you to recognize when you don’t understand the material and facilitate you asking questions in class.  Another advantage to working ahead is that you will have more study/review time after the last chapter is covered and prior to the test.

Exam and Quiz Expectations

All exams and quizzes will be taken in the online course environment. The exams will be taken in the computer lab as a class while the quizzes may be taken on any computer the day that they open.  All exams and quizzes will consist of multiple choice questions.

The quizzes will have 5 questions (2pts a piece) and you will have exactly 10 minutes to take them.

The exams will consist of 50 questions (2pts a piece) and you will have exactly 50 minutes to take them.

Your final exam is comprehensive and consists of 100 questions (2pts a piece); you will have exactly 100 minutes to take it.

You are expected to have a form of back up if your computer should fail at the time of the quizzes (I recommend taking them on campus). Failure to take the exam or quiz at the designated time results in a “0” in the grade book.

Late exams will only be permitted in cases involving extreme hardship (e.g., unplanned change of employment, transfer, severe illness, accident, or death in the immediate family).  It is then the student’s responsibility to arrange with the instructor when they will be retaking the exam. Make-up exams result in an automatic reduction of 5% of the total points of the exam. Exams must be made-up within 48 hours of the original due date, unless there is an extreme hardship. There will be no make-up of quizzes.
