Hi! My name is Charity Homan.  I am 39 years old and live in southeast Missouri.  I am currently working to finish my bachelors degree and only a few classes including this one away.  I took a big break after having my children and have not been in college since 2005.  My husband and I own a trucking company and I currently keep track of all the accounting for it.  I do payroll and other daily bookkeeping tasks.  I am not sure what I will do with my bachelors degree once I finish it, I am currently just wanting to finish it.  I am looking forward to this class because I think it would be interesting and challenging.

Hi Charity!

It is nice to meet you!  I took quite a break from college classes myself and started back two years ago to finish out my bachelor in Accounting.  I hope that once I get the degree I will get the Cost Accountant position within the company I currently work for.  However, since working from home due to Covid I may need think of getting outside of my basement to check out other companies where I am able to work along others.  Our company sent our department home on March 13th due to covid and we have not been back in our plant other than for inventory purposes.  It has been a huge change for me but there are days it is awesome to be able to take my child to school and attend any activities she has at night.  I wish you the best of luck these next 8 weeks!

Hi Charity,

I took a big break too after getting my Associates degree in 2006 and came back to school two years ago after my senior accountant at work asked if I thought about going to school to get my bachelors and here I am. I hope to graduate in 2022. It has been a long road to get this far between working full-time and raising a family, but I will get it done!
