Ice Breaker Original post: Tue 1/19/2021 at 7:55 PM

Hi everyone! My name is Destiny Bax! I am 22 years old and working 2 jobs while juggling school. I graduated from State Technical College in Linn, MO in 2019 with a Associates Degree in Business Administration- Accounting option. After I graduated I then started working full time at Legends Bank in Linn. While working at the bank I was very surprised in how much fraud actually occurred with our customers and how often. There is not a day that goes by that someone doesn't have fraudulent activity on their debit card. I am very excited to learn more about fraud in this class and maybe even educate the people that I work with and our customers. Fraud is huge and there is so much to learn about it! In the future, I would love to be a fraud examiner!

I wish us all good luck this semester! :)

Hi Destiny!

Welcome to the class, it is very nice to meet you. I also received a degree from State Technical College in Linn, MO. Our courses were held virtually live with an instructor from the Linn Campus, while sat in a class room in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

I hope to work at bank someday in the near future!

I wish you the best of luck in this course!

Hello Destiny, I admire you working your way through college. Its not easy, me and my wife have done the same. I think your degree goals are a great idea, this is something I think is excellent to get into and will help you find a great career. I also work in banking, I have worked at a credit union for ten years and we see a ton of fraud! I always though a fraud examiner would be an interesting and rewarding career choice. Good luck on everything!

Destiny,

It really is crazy how much fraud occurs and how many people fall for it. I used to work in banking when I was younger and was blown away with what people could think of to commit fraud. It would amaze me how much older people are subject to these fraudulent activities. I could see this class really helping you when trying to communicate what is happening to the victims at the bank. It sounds like you are very busy with 2 jobs! There is so much opportunity for growth in the banking industry! Good luck this semester on this class and I hope it helps give you knowledge for the future!
