Fraud can lead to the loss of employees because whenever the news gets out people my start accusing each other of a crime that they did not commit. It is important to not confront an employee that has committed fraud too soon because one should get all of the evidence in line first. If the employer doesn't have all the evidence lined out before hand then it employee may have time to destroy evidence before the evidence can be collected.

That's absolutely right.  I wouldn't want to falsely accuse and employee and I wouldn't want to be falsely accused so having all the evidence together before hand would be very important.  Plus as you stated it might give them a heads up that people are watching them so they can get rid of the evidence.  Good post

Harley,

You make a great point about employees accusing each other. Investigations should be kept as private as possible so not to tip off the actual fraud.
