Fraud Ivestigation and an Angry Victim Original post: Tue 2/2/2016 at 8:17 PM

Fraud investigation within a company can become known by the suspected employee causing them to quit or try to cover it up by causing the owner to believe it may be someone else causing trust issues and problems with other employees in the workplace with finger pointing.. The owner of a company may also immediately fire the employee.

Depending on the severity of fraud suspected it may be best for the company to just let them go as their punishment to quickly cut ties to prevent a large loss. If it is believed that a very large case of fraud has been committed the company will want it fully investigated to pursue future civil or criminal charges against the employee.

The victim's anger can ruin the investigation if they confront the suspected employee too soon which could cause the suspected employee to quit before the investigator was able to obtain all the needed evidence for fraudulent charges.

It is a very bad idea for the fraud victim to act out of anger because if they do, then the suspect could quit suddenly and an investigation wouldn't do any good, or the suspect could lash out and hurt the victim even more.  Depending on the severity of the fraud I would say depends on how the punishment would go.  If it was severe, then there needs to be a severe punishment.  If it was something small, then maybe just simply firing the suspect could be good enough to let other employees know that they mean business and they will find out about the fraud.

Morally speaking it is unethical along with a bad idea for the fraud victim to act out of anger and out of feelings in the moment. Within the whole ordeal we know our feelings can sometimes overrule and take over our minds and make us do things we will regret. In this ordeal somebody could get hurt and the suspect could be in a situation where they will regret in the end. But the bigger the fraud the bigger the punishment, any emphasis of fraud should be investigated and token serious because of the damage it could o to one and ones company.
